‘At the core of all my work is the time spent working at Poppit Sands. The eight years dedicated to the one beach gave me more than the photographs ; it gave me a way of understanding myself and my needs. Once I discovered that, I was free to explore in any way I could, which is exactly what I still do now. Everything leads back to the beach.’
